Combined 2D Translate/Rotate widget moves viewport camera instead of selected object when new gizmos are enabled

Summary

With the new transform gizmos enabled, the combined Translate and Rotate Objects in 2D widget displays and highlights its X/Z handles, but left-clicking and dragging a handle moves the viewport camera unexpectedly instead of translating the selected object.

Regular translation and rotation tools work correctly. Switching to legacy gizmos resolves the combined 2D widget’s interaction problem.

  2. Enable the 2D combined Translate/Rotate widget option.
  3. Select an object in the level viewport.
  4. Activate Translate and Rotate Objects in 2D.
  5. Hover over the X or Z translation arrow until it highlights.
  6. Hold the left mouse button and drag.
  7. Compare with the regular Move and Rotate tools.
  8. Disable the new gizmos, switch to legacy gizmos, and repeat the combined 2D widget test.
