Color diffuse material possible?

Hi.

I was wondering if its possible to color the diffuse with a setting in the material editor?
For example in Cryengine your diffuse would be a desaturated version. And a layer can applied on top, in game to set the color.

This way you do not need a green, a red, a yellow or fine tune hue values. Instead it works like a photo filter in photoshop.
The upside is of course saving memory etc.

You can color them with a multiply or a lerp node

e.g

(with the constant vector you can choose how strong which texture should be displayed)

After switching from CE, this has been my favorite thing in regards to textures. Actually, the whole material editor is just beyond amazing.
