Hey guys. Is there a way to make it so that certain meshes (or meshes with a specific material) have a specific sound for when they’re walked on, knocked over, etc.? What about for if they fall down and hit something, so that it’ll make a banging/crashing noise? I know this is fairly easy to do in the Source Engine’s Hammer world editor, but I don’t know how to do it in UE4. Thanks!
EDIT: I’ve also got a vent cover that can be knocked down by the player so they can enter the vent. Because there’s a mesh there, it’s blocking the path for the box, and the navmesh won’t let it through there. What should I do?
You’d do that similar to the Footstep set up…you’d just need to ask what kind of Material ID it has and choose what kind of sound you want based off of that… - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgMk2dYtGxA
as for the vent check the Nav info on it in the details panel once it’s in your level…change it to Dynamic and not Static …there may be some other options there with it but you’ll likely find them in the details panel once it’s placed in level…
