Cloudy day lightning?

Hey guys,

is it possible to change the amount of clouds for the skybox and the lighting?
The default light is producing very hard shadows like its very sunny day. But when it is cloudy in real life, shadows are very smooth and nearly not visible.

Also ive seen dynamic shadows of the clouds in the epic kite demo. Is this easy to implement?

Greetings and thanks for your answers!

For overcast weather conditions you need to turn off the directional light and use a sky light only.

For cloud shadows look into light functions.

You can change the amount of clouds with the “Cloud Opacity” in the details of the sky sphere

You can take a skylight and in that plug in a nice overcast hdr texture or you can do is take hdr in your skydome and then add skylight, that will emulate also the overcast lighting.

Best Regards

None of these suggestions actually help with the sky… Right now cloud opacity in the default skysphere looks like *** and i have not been able to make it look like dark storm clouds… not to mention the whole hdr effect behaves to extreme as though your going out into a bright day lit area.

You can just make you own cloud textures and make a new material with them. That’s what i do anyway.
