Class Selector UI device still broken on published islands.

Summary

The Class Selector UI round 2 bug is still not fixed. This bug only persists on private and published islands, it does not appear within the live editor. Class Selector UI works fine for the 1st Round. On the second round; when attempting to open the Class Selector UI through an event, the UI simply does not pop up. It doesn’t even appear in the map key menu. It’s as if the UI is just permanently disabled from round 2 onwards. Again, this only happens on private versions and public releases. It does not happen when testing locally and on live editors. Other users seem to experience the same issue. It also apparently breaks Epic’s own Deserted:Domination island (8035-1519-2959).

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a round based game mode
  2. Place down a Class Selector UI device
  3. Settings of the device do not seem to matter.
  4. Create an event to display the UI through any means e.g a button
  5. Test this UI in a published island or a private version island
  6. On round 1, the UI will popup as expected
  7. From round 2 onwards, the UI will not popup at all

Expected Result

If a user attempts to open the Class Selector UI on a published Island in round 2 or beyond, the UI should popup as normal as it should’ve in the previous round.

Observed Result

If a user attempts to open the Class Selector UI on a published Island in round 2 or beyond, nothing will happen. It’s as if the device just gets permanently disabled past round 2 and cannot be enabled again.

Additional Notes

This is quite a frequent bug that many other users are experiencing. For players that are making RPG-esque games based on round systems, this bug makes it almost impossible for users to create perks, classes, heroes etc. A temporary solution may be to create your own Class selector UI using the Pop-up dialog, however this this is still not a good enough workaround. This bug is currently plaguing a lot of round based game modes utilizing classes and needs to be addressed ASAP.
