CitySample Vehicles appear White in Hit Lighting Reflections

In the City Sample project in 5.4 or 5.5, I noticed that after switching from Surface Cache to Hit Lighting for Reflections and with Max Reflection Bounces > 1 that most of the vehicles exhibit the following artifact in their reflections:

When Ray Lighting Mode is set to Surface Cache OR Max Reflection Bounces set to 1, it looks as expected, like this:

Note: Screen Traces are turned off in these images - enabling it ‘hides’ the problem wherever screen traces can fill in the reflection but still don’t help for off-screen reflections. I’m also looking to use this with nDisplay so screen space effects are not desired.

You can clearly see that in reflections, vehicles are all white:

They get brighter if I increase the Skylight intensity, so it’s not an unlit material that is used in the reflections.

Any ideas on what’s going wrong/how to resolve this so I can get the highest quality reflections possible?
