Summary

Hi, I have a project that began with the city sample (it is a film project that takes place in the city sample city). It is a 5.3 project and today I wanted to take advantage of the new retargeting system of 5.4 so I tried to open it in 5.4.3. I was hit with:

Would you like to rebuild them now?

of course I hit yes but was then hit with:

projectX could not be compiled. Try rebuilding from source manually.


I’ve updated my visual studio 2022, and the game c++ is installed.

Does anybody know how to fix this? Any help would be very appreciated.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. start a city sample scene in 5.3.2
  2. launch 5.4.3 and try to open that 5.3.2 scene
  3. pull hair out.

Expected Result

Project would open correctly in 5.4.3 and function normally.

Observed Result

project reports it cannot compile and that I should try compiling from source.

I have been able to progress with this problem to the point were I can get it into visual studio and attempted a build. I get 102 errors back, all of which seem to be city sample related. I think I need Epic help with this, as the creators of the city sample. Does anyone know how I could get their attention on this?
