Chroma key not working properly.

I’m making some tests with chroma key to realize a small virtual set for my videos.
I’m making chroma key with ue 4.24 so i’m not using the new chroma key plugin provided in 4.26. So i’m using the old system creating a material with the chrome hey node.
The problem is that the video in green screen is only slightly visible, no matter the values of the alpha cutoff i choose…the video can be only slightly visible or completely visible with also the green screen.
Ok the illumination in the video was not so perfect but if i try to make chroma key with that video in a video editing software (i use olive) it works quite well. Why making it in ue4 has zero tollerance? Or maybe there is a better way to use that node? I attached an image with the material bluprint…this bluprint is suggested in a lot of tutorials so i don’t think there is something wrong.

1- (Despill Alpha) => opacity/opacity mask

Using despill it’s only better but not enough. At this point i think that green screen with unreal has very low tolerance.

It worked for me though. There were very slight greenish tint to none on the edges. That would be assuming that you would have to be very close to the plane to see that pixel difference.

I was using green pants on the characters to prove a point. You need to play with the ALL settings of that node a lot more to see the separation.

First of all thank for your help and congratulations for your work…i like the style!
However, about the node,there are only a few settings to work around, i tried it all but the result is always very bad. I’ll try recording another video…

I made some tests using an example video on youtube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqZuhJZAK-8&list=PLTH1W-kYjBQPMw0T2Oa9aNlWlPzAkYQmM&index=3 )…as you can see the video as an intro with green tonalities changing a bit and only when the tiger appear the green is perfectly uniform. Now i tried to chroma keying it with olive and with ue4…as expected with olive is far more easy and permissive…it’s able to catch also the green in the intro even if not perfectly…the tiger runs perfect. With ue4, no matter how much i try all the settings of the node, the intro it’s impossible to chroma keying enough but the tiger works well.
So ue4 requieres perfect illumination on green screen during recording and this not so easy to do at home!
I ask myself if the new chroma keying plugin on 4.26 works better…i’ll try this hoping not to change all the exposure and illumination of the project due to the exposure changing applied by epic games from 4.25.

using 4.24.2 . Hope this helps!

Well…i’ll try this tomorrow…it’s interesting. But…what about the disconnected multiply node?

i was trying something which didnt work or not important, and just left it disconnected when i captured the screen shot.
