Chest loot spawns with unloaded weapons and zero charge items after recent Fortnite updates

Summary

Items obtained from chests spawn in an unusable or partially initialized state. Weapons require an immediate reload after pickup, and many charge based weapons and consumables spawn with zero charges or zero uses despite functioning correctly in previous seasons.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Launch the published island.
  2. Open any standard loot chest (open multiple chests if necessary).
  3. Pick up a weapon from the chest.
  4. Observe that the weapon is not loaded and requires a reload before it can be fired.
  5. Repeat with charge based items such as Grapple Gloves, Bass Boost Gloves, Wings of Icarus, Surf Cube, Power Gloves, Mist Form, Lawless Slap Jug, and Exotic Slap Berry Fizz.
  6. Observe that these items spawn with zero charges, zero uses, or otherwise cannot be used immediately after pickup.

Expected Result

Weapons obtained from chests should spawn in a fully usable state with their normal initial ammunition and magazine values. Charge based items and consumables should initialize with their intended default charges or uses. This behavior previously worked correctly on the same island without any configuration changes.

Observed Result

Weapons consistently spawn unloaded and require manual reloading before first use. Numerous charge based items initialize with zero charges or zero uses, rendering them partially or completely unusable immediately after pickup. This behavior affects multiple item classes and appears consistent across the island.

Additional Notes

This appears to be a regression. The island was originally published in February 2024 and has functioned correctly across numerous updates. No gameplay logic, device configuration, chest configuration, or island settings were modified prior to this issue appearing. The behavior began only after recent Fortnite ecosystem updates. Infinite Magazine Ammo and Infinite Consumables are intentionally disabled because the island is designed to replicate standard Battle Royale and Blitz gameplay mechanics.
