Checking eligibility for the island creator program does not work

Creator Portal

Summary

I can’t sign up for the island creator program because for some reason the creator portal doesn’t count the days that are a requirement to join, it says I have 0/30 days since I first logged into Fortnite but it’s not true, I have logged in to fortnite but it’s not counting the days.

I’ve thought trying to use the “Spend and redeem $73 in the last 90 days on Fortnite in-game products” option, but I don’t know if it will count if I buy V-Bucks from the Fortnite store or have to buy other products.

Steps to Reproduce

Enter the island creator portal page and try to enroll

Expected Result

Being able to see the progress of the days of the requirement when checking eligibility

Observed Result

Day progress is not showing/not counting

hi
@esguilless
The problem is you must launch UEFN/Fornite from the Epic Launcher or your times are not counted.
You cannot use a Windows shortcut for first 30 dayes of Creative/UEFN use. Times are calculated and store by Epic Launcher click on the three dots … to see your times.

Hello,
I am having the same issue, But i have been using fortnite creative everyday for the past 2 months, My hours on Epic Games Launcher is 360 hours yet my account still says 0 on the eligibility requirements for the island creator programme?

Is there a different solution to the problem i could try?

Thank you @Jimbohalo10

@Flak @Jimbohalo10 We are a new studio, signed up on 4 January 2026, and having a similar issue, except our work in the UEFN editor does not want to update on the website. I have reached out to Support now multiple times after we reached out here on the forums via this thread: Enroll Fortnite Creative Program 0/7 Days Spend in UEFN Does Not Update - #2 by Flak created on 11 January was closed by the team advising us to contact Fortnite support instead of the Forums.

We have supplied ample screenshots now, having worked 5 of the 7 days in the UEFN editor, and every time we login to the creator portal and click on Enroll, the number of days with the Fortnite account out of 30 days is updating, but our days in UEFN still shows 0/7 and is not updating.

Can anyone help with this?
As a new studio trying out Creative, we announced everywhere we will launch our first game on 4 February, but now with all this delays just getting the account to update correctly, is very stressful.

Below is work of almost 8 hours in the UEFN editor learning verse from 13 January onwards, none of these days updated in the UEFN portion on the website for Enrollment.

hi @SKAIdragons ,

Due to the new IDENTIFICATION verification procedure . You must comply as shown below.

As a new studio trying out Creative, we announced everywhere we will launch our first game on 4 February,

To fully benefit from the Creator Program it would be a good idea to complete the Hyperwallet

setup as this is how you would get paid by Epic.

Once you start this Hyperwallet application you have ONLY THREE days to complete including the tax section. Tax is complex as you have to fill in the WS9 tax form or it locks out for 30 days.

Personal Social Security number MUST be used as this proves who you are and that you pay tax

Set up your Tax Profile and Hyperwallet account - Creator Programs Support

Without doing this you wont get paid and you WONT be able to publish any Islands.

I am sorry to hear that this issue still exists. The following is the workaround that worked for me.

Sadly, it seems that nobody can do anything about it. Day counting seems to depend on multiple things working together, and we have no clear way to flag this to the right developers. Hopefully, the multiple reports that we put up will grab someone’s attention at some point.

Hi there @Jimbohalo10 - Thanks for your reply. We can not even get to the Hyperwallet stage yet, as our account is still all greyed out. You only get access to setup your account and all once the entire edibility criteria is met. We can also not setup the tax details yet, or any of that stuff.

Furthermore, when we signed up for our account, there was a verification process to prove our age that takes you to an external portal and you add your bank card, they take like 3 cents and then our account verification was already processed and approved.

We will try this today, thank you. We did however launch and use creative several times over the course of the last 3 weeks, but it didn’t work for us in updating the eligibility page. We will try from today onwards to use Unreal Engine and hope that works.

Very sad state of affairs for us as a new studio in Fortnite Creative. We had to notify our players and community that we have delay our first game supposed to launch on 4 Feb.

Hi @SKAIdragons ,

There is an article on the outside world suggesting that if you have UE5 standard Engine AND UEFN then development time on UEFN goes to UE5 Standard Engine, or are they saying it was blocked.

When starting my UEFN development and registration This was on a laptop NOT my UE5.3 desktop.

This decision way a great idea because UEFN marks all UE5 assets as Disallowed and you must use the correct procedure

This always causes problems for UEFN users and its worth checking that all your assets can be launched on device like Android phone, Nintendo, Play Station and Xbox before you try publishing.

Hi there. Thanks for responding, but we don’t understand what any of this means? We are not regular UE users. We wanted to enroll for the Fortnite Creator account in order to publish games, and we are at the stage where the Eligibility calculator on the Fortnite Creator portal page is not updating from the work we do in UEFN / Fortnite Creative. Another user here suggested we use Unreal Engine as hours spend in this engine apparently can also calculate towards the 7 days . . . or are we understanding this incorrectly?

Could you help us understand what you mean with the advise given as we are beginners in UE5. Will the time we spend in UE5 this week count towards our eligibility on the Creator Portal page or not?

Hi @SKAIdragons ,

Time in UE5 DOES NOT count to Fortnite times you should have a light blue icon with “Unreal Engine for Fortnite” on taskbar anything else is wrong and you CANNOT FN publish from UE5.*

Stay in UEFN

This will take up to 15 minutes sometimes 30 with PC running Fortnite as well
