Character Facing and Aiming Direction Stuck, Doesn't Follow Cursor (Twin Stick) - Third Person Controls

Summary

I’m making a top-down shooter, and I’m having a bug where sometimes the player rotates freely and aims where the mouse is pointing, but other times he’s stuck most often facing up, and you can’t rotate to shoot freely in other directions.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Add Fixed Angle Camera device
  2. Add Third Person Controls device:
    Facing Direction - “Twin Stick”
Twin Stick Mouse Aim Mode - “Target Cursor” (or even “Dual Aim”)
  3. Equip a gun
  4. The bug happens to me after:
  • Elimination & respawn
  • Hiding then Unhiding from a hiding prop like Toilet
  • A chance to happen immediately when the game starts

Expected Result

Character turns around freely in 360 degrees to face and aim at the cursor.

Observed Result

Not always, but more often than not it gets bugged, where the character rotation is fixed upwards, and won’t face or aim at the cursor. Other times it works perfectly.

I’ve noticed that this has the chance to happen when the player spawns in for the first time, when the player is eliminated and respawns, and when the player hides and unhides from a hiding prop. Keep in mind that the Third Person Controls device is enabled, i tested it.

Additional Notes

I have the Third Person Controls device with Twin Stick (for mouse aiming) set, and I have Fixed Angle Camera for the fixed top down view.

I’ve tried changing priority, deleting and adding again both devices, changing the affected team, changing Aim Mode to Dual Aim (still the same problem). This bug happens even on private code.

Didn’t publish the game yet because this is a game breaking bug for me.

In the video you can see it at 2:27. Keep in mind that in the video some glitching through ground happens at the end, but it’s not related to this bug.
