Changing the UVs isn't affecting the alpha channel

I have this simple setup in my material. With certain textures, this correctly scales the texture but the output of the Alpha is not scaled as well. Other textures work as expected.

Any ideas what might be different? I checked out the texture assets and all of the properties are identical. All the source files are pngs.

I think it will if you just convert the texture node to a parameter

( I’m not familiar with the tex param object )
