well my creative map has been set up for a few weeks and they is alot of team changing mechanics going on over various teams and at different times. Everything was working fine and when you spawned you would change to the team which i could visually see via the score board team name. Since the update to the class selector device my map is completely not functioning correctly even though nothing changed and they wasnât any issues until the update on the class selector. Sometimes it changes and sometimes it doesnât its so random and it starts on random teams ie team 1 or team 2 and i cannot understand the issue. Has anyone else had this issue since the update to the class selector ? I have double checked settings ect and everything looks the same but i am unsure if the update changed anything in the background ???

same here. class selector does not work when event binding a teleport on team switched event binding. Teleporter wont teleport. The other class selectoor works⌠for now, but seems that the team 1 does not
i think it is something to do with the class selector mixing the teams/classes as it lets me change team 16 times and then reverts to always say team 1. I dont think its the player counter but it is deffinetly the class selector.
i donât understand why the bug moderator would remove the other post even if it was a duplicate when they is clearly an issue and this post with the same issue is not been acknowledged ??? and wasnt chosen to be the one to be removed.
This is an issue and it needs fixing.
Please can you sort the problem out as i am unable to publish my map i have been working weeks on.
As described in the other post its an issue with the class selector that wont let you change above team 16 when you publish an island but everything works in a private creative session.
Teams are not supposed to be auto switching mid game on respawning. (All players are respawbing onto a checkpoint device after teleported from pregame lobby)
Expexted result:
Spawn in game on team 3, choose team 1 or 2 using class selectors (switch to team) teleport to checkpoint and no longer spawn in pregame area. (This works well when I test it single player unpublished)
Observed Result:
Mid game player on team 1 or 2 dies and respawns on team 3 on checkpoint device. which is not a chosen team but only class selector event binded and assigned to mutator zone around join in game spawn pads.
Or
Players on both teams 1 and 2 score board shows same color team, and all devices and capture area devices behave as if players are now on BOTH teams 1 and 2.
Team colors on scoreboard show white (major Bug) when no team colors are set to white
Game devices set to team 1 and 2 separately for capturing bases are suddenly combined where each player is active on both teams 1, 2 , and possibly 3 ( 3 is the game start spawning class selector event binding to mutator on player entering zone before choosing team 1 or 2)
Cannot publish my game until fixed. I already published public and then unlisted it once I noticed the bug only occured on multiplayer intermittently.
@PledgedRanger I donât know if Iâm correctly raving on in reguards to your situationâŚbut.
When selecting a team with a class selector it is meant to respawn the player (as per latest docs).
I would assume If you are teleporting out of the class selector before the respawn happens, then team change would not take effect.
I would still set up a team based spawnpad to spawn on after team selection and then teleport player from there to the checkpoint device for registering.
Thank you @Hardcawcanary. I have the setup where they teleport directly after choosing teams using the class selector device. At this point, the HUD scoreboard shows they switched teams. They teleport into a waiting area, for a sequence to play, and then when complete, they teleport onto the checkpoint device.
For the first 10 minutes or so in gameplay it runs smoothly. But It is when Join in Progress player joins in, that the teams are reset for all players then reverted back to their chosen team again, breaking all devices mid game which then behave like they are broken and most devices behave as if they are now âActivating Team: ANYâ instead of âActivating Team: 1 or 2ââŚ
So wait I have Class Selector: âRespawn Player on Switchâ setting to False because I need them to wait for the sequence to play and other devices all enable once completeâŚ
Should I add 12 player spawners for Team index: 1 and 12 Player Spawners for Team Index: 2 (Higher Priority 0) in the waiting area after choosing a team using the class selector?
And have the first 24 spawners loading into the pregame lobby set to Team Index: Any (Lower Priority 1) like they are now?
Hmmm, the docs for Class Selector doing a respawn on team change is not matching what is actually happening, they say changing team will force a respawn.
I would make them respawn into the waiting area with the 12 player spawners for Team index: 1 and 12 Player Spawners for Team Index: 2, and teleport them from there after the sequence, just to be consistent with the Class Selector Documentation.
But I have no idea if this will sort out the player joining problem. It would be nice if it was consistent and allow you to Dynamically select teams and keep it that way.
Watch out for the spawnpad priority group settings, they are opposite everything else, lower numbers are higher priority, theyâre set to use priority group 1 first, 2 second etc
A few months ago using more than 3 different priority groups was failing, I donât know if this has been fixed.

Its still bugged. The class selector will not change above team 16 in a published map and i cannot publish my island without it and ive been working weeks on it!!!

Can you be more specific as to what context the definition of duplicate is used ? I donât understand if you are referring to all other posts of just by myself.
I am just trying to make sure the issue isnât forgotten about
