Hi Wert, the Creative Chair Exit binding was never used, which is why we removed it (the mobile issue was tangentially related, but a separate problem). It was part of the development process but we landed on extending the Riding system that wildlife uses to extend to other entities, like the chair. When I stepped through your video I noticed you have unbound your Dismount input, which is what is causing you to not be able to exit the chair, as that is the binding that globally controls dismounting any ridden object.
I see. The thing is I want to see this as a new player, not for my account. I don’t really care about my experience in games, mostly interested what the player does. If they have their dismount unbound too, that would cause the same issue, and now that the chair device hotkey is also removed, there is no way the average player can figure this out. My suggestion is to bind this key automatically to any player that doesn’t have it bound the moment they mount wildlife or sit on a chair, that way nobody ever runs into this issue.
Thanks for the clarification though, that sheds some light into what is happening.
Showcased in the template are two new devices now available for Creative and UEFN, the Chair device and the Input Trigger device. The chair device enables you to put players into a seated position in order to focus their view on a specific area. You’ll have options for the type of chair used and other presets. You can even create a custom chair based on your own imported static mesh.
This still works fine in 31.10, and getting out of the seat at the end is easy. You are prompted to process the “E” key to get out of the seat.
Seems to be written in Verse so there is great code to be used in your projects
The issue is that it should bind it to something if unbound, or at least shows a popup to help the player bind it. Maybe its niche now and due to my account being old I encounter it, but going into the “riding” category to bind a chair “stand up” in a way is very confusing.
There should be no case where the player can be trapped in a chair that way, some sort of clever failsafe has to allow them to continue. It feels broken to say dismount and no prompt right next, even if the player has no key set.
Idk, feels like awkward design and I still see users having the same issue (they don’t know they have to go to riding category to bind it)
