setting up a mesh emitter where i want the material to pan across the uvs once not a continuous loop. so i clamped my Texture on the X and Y offset it on the y minus 1 and use a dynamic parameter to pan the texture across the mesh over its life, but it just doesnt seem to work, it just plays the sub uv like normal no pan or anything. if anyone can point out anything wrong or if its because im using a sub uv would be good to know thanks.
doesnt work on sub uv parameters
Yes it works on sub UV parameters.
(if you dont know the answer, dont answer please)
setup for use with sub-uv parameter
(dont use a sub-uv texture node)
setup in cascade - subuv module
in the required module:
particle result in cascade:
If you dont want to use the sub-uv module.
here is a non-sub uv setup:
Gif of the effect. (clamped on Y axis in texture)
In your case make sure top/bottom of the texture is black so it doesnt stretch like mine.
thanks Luos again, I ended up using a dynamic parameter like you commented in the material, and when I answered earlier I was talking about the actual sub uv node in the material editor, when I switched it to a texture sample,(T+left click) it works but when I was trying to use a particle sub uv or parameter sub uv it did not, I tried both with your material and neither worked with it either only texture sample works. thanks again though you’re always a big help!!! keep doing what you do! also if you’re going to be at GDC this year would be awesome to meet up!!
Didn’t even realize you answered your own question hehe.
as for the subUV material node, due to some things under the hood (for blending) it doesnt allow for much UV control, but other way around it does work on meshes + particle subUV while a regular texture node doesnt allow this.
sadly no gdc for me
