Hi! Hot-fix version 1.2.1 of Cardboard VR is now available in the UE Marketplace.
Changelog
Version 1.2.1
Fixed error ITMS-90535 (Unexpected CFBundleExecutable Key) when using recent versions of Apple Transporter: removed the key CFBundleExecutable from the UNACardboard.bundle/Info.plist file.
Fixed a possible crash on startup under iOS (when the user manually grants access to the camera after having rejected it on first launch, some UI code could be executed in a non-UI thread).
Fixed automatic opening of the iOS Settings page and Android App Info view at every app launch, when the user denied the camera access permission and the âAlways Show QR Scanner First Timeâ option is set. At the moment this can still happen once on iOS (see upstream issue #336).
Hello! Due to a bug in UE5.3.0 (UBT fails to copy bundle resources on iOS), the update of Cardboard VR for UE5.3 is delayed until UE5.3.1 is available (it should happen soon).
Hello! The Cardboard VR plugin is now available for UE5.3.
If youâre on UE5.3 with iOS, ensure to use UE5.3.1 (UE5.3.0 has a bug in UBT affecting the plugin).
With UE5.3 Epic also improved Vulkan support on Android, that now works as expected with the plugin.
To install it: open the Epic Games Launcher, navigate to Unreal Engine > Library > Fab Library, search the plugin by name, press the Install to Engine button, select the desired engine version and then press the Install button.
The new version of Cardboard VR (v1.5) for Unreal Engine is now available for UE5.3, UE5.4 and UE5.5. It adds support for 2024 iPhones and improved head tracking.
Whatâs new:
Upgraded the Google Cardboard SDK to version v1.27.0 (for UE5.3 and later).
Added an optional low-pass filter to stabilize the velocity for the pose prediction of the head tracker. Itâs enabled by default and can be customized in the pluginâs Project Settings.
Added support for 2024 iPhones (iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max).
