I’ve been diving into the new hair system which is a really great addition to the engine but, I am running into some limitations.
I can’t set the hair material to be masked or translucent, Unreal replaces all my grooms materials with the Default Hair Material when I make this change.
Ideally I could use this to grow or shrink the visibility of strands along its length. For example for a transformation sequence where the character would grow hair.
I also tried updating the Hair Clip Length property in the groom group description but the hair clip length doesn’t update in realtime even though the variable is changing per tick on my print.
Any ideas on how I can update hair properties at runtime?
