Summary

I’ve been trying to create a body cam effect using the new Orbit Camera and add a camera shake on top when the player starts working with the use of a camera shake blueprint on a Cinematic Sequence Device. I’ve tried doing it through in editor settings and through Verse but it seems impossible to play a Cinematic Sequence Device whilst the Orbit Camera is active.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Have an Orbit Camera added to a player
  2. Try to play a Cinematic Sequence Device with a camera shake blueprint while the Orbit Camera is active.

Expected Result

Cinematic Sequence Device starts playing and camera starts shaking while while Orbit Camera is active on player.

Observed Result

Camera shaking doesn’t play(Cinematic Sequence Device doesn’t start)

Platform(s)

windows

Additional Notes

The Cinematic Sequence device can be started and stopped while the Orbit Camera isn’t active and it can stay active. The expected result can be observed if the Orbit Camera gets activated whilst the Cinematic Sequence device is already playing. I have also tested this by adding vignette from a post processing volume in the Cinematic Sequence device. The vignette activates normally when the Orbit Camera is both active and disabled. So it seems like it could be an issue only for the camera shake actor.

Yup, I tried adding the camera orbit into the cinematic sequence while adding the shake source into where you’re supposed to add it, and still no shake… Same issue here…
