Cant paint foliage on foliage

as the title says, i cannot paint any foliage on top of other foliage.

i have an underwater scene where i want to paint some foliage on top of some rocks that are also foliage.

ive tried disabled and enabled the filter settings, editing the settings like collision, angles and such but nothing seems to change. im probably overlooking something rather simple.

any help would be appreciated

The default collision when you paint folige is ‘none’. But, the foliage tool needs collision to know where to paint. So, you need to enable collision on the rocks if you want to paint on them…

i set the rocks to collision enabled and block all. still didnt work. tried again with the 2nd foliage to the same and nothing.

solved it. for whatever reason, i had to remove the foliage type then re-add them.

Meh, it was a good shot…

Hey everyone! I had the same problem in UE4 and I fixed the collision but the problem was not solved. I finally solved that by adding foliage by clicking on the filters icon in the foliage paint section.

This is a good find! Thank you for the additional information @Eli_hdy!
