A solution was found.
The cause was UEFN not knowing which display to open new windows on for some reason. I swapped my HDMI cables between my monitors, swapped their alignment in Windows settings, then it worked.
The first asset opened up a tiny window furthering my suspicion that UEFN couldn’t figure out which window to display on.
I hope this helps others with this problem.
Just because I have found a work around though doesn’t mean this isn’t an issue. UEFN has given me several problems with windows opening incorrectly over its lifetime. Sometimes it will open a window in the background that will lock input to the editor, making it seem like it’s in a loading state. After however many minutes of waiting I will realize I need to click something. Or a similar issue to the op, it always opens new windows in a minimized state or on the wrong window.
