I’m getting the same error after 34.20 update.

I am able to start an Edit Session for a new Blank map, but not for a larger map.

@Flak Hi, could you help me understand what actions/info would be needed to involve Epic to troublshoot this critical issue that prevents dev work completely for the affected people?

Some more observations:

  • If I sync to a Revision Control’s OLD snapshot from Mar 24 (before 34.20 update) and don’t change it in Editor, I can start the Edit Session from UEFN

  • … but if I do any changes on top of that old snapshot, the same happens: Can’t start the Edit Session

  • If I create a Private Version from that OLD snapshot and set it as the Playtest build, I can start it fine from Lobby on all platforms I tried: PC, PS5, Xbox One

  • … but if I create a Private Version from the LATEST snapshot (done after 34.20 update), the game’s start status in Lobby gets stuck at “UPDATING… 100%” on all platforms (PC, PS5, Xbox One)

The bug reporter had an issue with this post, we’re checking into it. Our internal ticket is FORT-880217, for tracking.

Could someone send me over their logs?

Also any project IDs, please!

I´ll do as soon as I get another. They are super random, you can work for hours without problem and have several crashes in 30 min

Hey Flak, this is happening to us too, here is the crash report and the fornite logs
UECC-Windows-1CE48C0B48EA7D4ED0DF6EACDF9629A3_0000.zip (507.8 KB)

I was browsing throw the logs and it just keeps sending LogDownloadOnDemandGameplay: Verbose: [3d2c] Failed To create Download On Demand Project. Link entry was deemed invalid : with different ids.

I also tested with a mobile session and it didn’t crash but it never loaded

Here is it

What project ID? It happens in any project, it is not only in one specific

Thank you so much @davidpkami

Everyone - as an update, the team is checking into all of the logs and is investigating. I’ll let you know if we need anything else. Thanks so much for the detailed reports and for getting us logs.

Hi, my team was having the same issue in one of the projects, and we had to go back to previous versions until we realized it was a custom device instance. Once we identified it, we just had to delete and re-add the device on the map, and the game opened without any issues.

Quick check after 34.21 update: It didn’t fix the problem in my case (not that I would have seen any claim that it would fix this issue). FN still crashes when I start my large project’s Edit Session from UEFN.

(Good find by Raikiri125, but unfortunately didn’t help in my case. I took an old pre-34.20 snapshot, didn’t add any custom Verse devices, but FN still crashes if I make the smallest change I can think of by slightly moving an existing prop)

Also experiencing this issue since v34.20 and after today’s update, also unable to make a private code

Subject: Network connection problem – Unable to launch my UEFN session
Hello,

Since March 31st at 5:00 a.m., I’ve been experiencing a problem when trying to launch my project session in Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).

Problem encountered:
A very long loading time when launching the session.

Then, I get the error message: “Network connection lost.”

Because of this, I can no longer perform memory calculations or post a new version of my map.

What I’ve tried:
Restart UEFN and Epic Games Launcher.

Check my internet connection.

Restart my PC.

I tested with a nearly empty project and it works.

Attached files:
I’m sending you the logs since the problem appeared as an attachment (ZIP file).

Can you help me identify the cause of the problem and how to resolve it? Thank you in advance for your help! @Flak
