For the first time, I cannot seem to install a new version of Unreal. When I click the “Install” button in the epic Launcher, nothing happens. I currently have 5.4.4 and 5.6.1 installed.
There could be an issue with your Epic Launcher, I would suggest a reinstall. And if the issue persists even after that, then the next step would be a full uninstall/reinstall of all Epic software from your setup:
First, uninstall the engine, launcher, any asset packs, etc
Next, open the registry directory HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Epic Games\Unreal Engine\Builds, and delete any build entries
Finally, delete the folders %userprofile%\AppData\Local\UnrealEngine and %userprofile%\AppData\Local\UnrealHeaderTool
After that, no elements related to UE should be left in your system
Now, reinstall UE launcher from scratch, and only add the latest version of the engine (in this case, 5.7, you can add older versions after)
After the process is complete, test opening a blank project in 5.7
Same problem here. Remove everything and reinstall EpicGamesLauncher has no effects.
Any version of UnrealEngine, it add the button, but the Install button has no effects (no error, no install, nothing)
Someone have another idea ?

Hi All i found a fix go to the download settings after install failed in Epics Download Manager then disable Automatic Update Recent Tiltles that worked for me in the latest epic game launcher…UE 5.7 then just retry the install.
I m having the same issue-not subversion. Unable to install any engine at all. And this problem had happened again since beginning of the year. It’s really a nightmare.
I recon it’s the Unreal Official Server issue. I suggest, for the Epic technical support, please kindly reseting your related engine installing servers, I am 99% sure the problem will be solved instanly.
As I had using a newly fresh Windows 11 machine to install the Epic Installer v19.00 (latest on Unreal Official site), the result is the same-Where happened to be suffered & affected from the similar problems where tons of thousand of Unreal developers had, and having suffering from development for momths.
Problems are :
When selecting the wanted game engine, the subnumber of the version are are ‘0’s. eg. UE 5.7.00 or UE 5.5.00 etcs.
Unable to download/install any Unreal Game Engine & plugins/libraries from the server at all, even letting the machine to be left for days online.
Please kindly reseting all the related UE servers. I think this is the only solution. Greatly Thanks in advance.
Yep, I have the same issue with games and any assets I own as well. The first level support people have closed my ticket twice now and it needs to go to a higher network level engineer. It is a Cloud Flare error for me.

For anyone wondering here is the actual error. It is Cloud Flare presenting an interactive or managed challenge on an API request which obviously there is no way to respond to it so you can’t put APIs behind a protection like that. I have tried explaining this to their first level support people and they are just not getting it.

Also, Cloud Flare has a hard timeout limit of 100 seconds of anything proxied unless you are on the Enterprise plan, which I doubt they are, so people like me with a huge library are going to timeout every single time.
I really wish I could talk to someone higher up or a network level engineer. I literally do this for a living and setup the exact same systems. Talking to normal support people has been fairly useless so far.
I can also login with a different account that has a normal small amount of games and assets and it also works fine. It is strictly related to having large amounts of assets.

Now almost all the possibilities of the probelm had been scoped down, almost close to where it is situated. For the technical support personnals of EPIC, please kindly fixup this mishaps.
This is really a Epic’s most fundamental installation/setup problem which has been haunting for more than 5 years or more for the ‘Non Exterprise Plan’ community. The managing/support level of the company ‘had failed’ in communications/supports between its large developers community serverly.

Yes. This is the really MOST IMPORTANT issue, which I had been facing for years with using Unreal Developing Engine- as a NON-Enterprise Developer. There wasnt any real techincal link/support for the developers (unless you’re entering the Enterprise level), this is a SERIOUS PROBLEM before any one consider to invest in this game engine.

Yes. As I’m having a resonably large libraries & plugins, which had invested/built up heavily over the years, who’s also suffering from this similar re-installation problem. And this is the actually where the problem lies!
I can also confirm that Unreal 5.7 refuses to install. Strange thing is that last night it got about half way through downloading before it stopped completely. This morning it’s stuck on “Installing” with an empty progress bar.
