EDIT: A plague of AI bots are overwhelming DL servers across the internet. That may be the same case here as well. Whatever the case, some clarity on the issue would help.
Retry with reinstall latest version
Version “19.2.1.51159753+++UE5+Release-Distro-5.5” as it write in “Settings” of the launcher
Nothing has changed. Still same bugs, still can’t install any UnrealEngine version, …
So still can’t using. Still using v18 of Epic Games Launcher
My installer, without regard for what version I’m using stops with a Invalid drive d:\ message.
Same problem here. Nothing can install. I am located in France.
EPIC should take this issue seriously. It sucks big time.
Same issue, cannot install 5.7. Appears as 5.7.0 and clicking button does nothing. exiting launcher is with a crashreport.
All engine installs regardless of version are broken for me and the install button does nothing. Confirmed error on Epic’s backend system and not user error.
Too many Fab assets?
You have two options:
- Downloads > Download Settings > Automatic Updates > Automatic updates = false
- Create a new account, no Fab assets, log in and DL your engine of choice.
Same issue, cannot install 5.7. Appears as 5.7.0 and clicking button does nothing.
GREAT NEWS for all the Professional Epic developers. It finally works now, all the download of any UNREAL game engines are working as Normal now !!!
Finally, after stagnent more than 9 months of NO GAME DEVELOPMENT or productivity (very disappointed with EPIC indeed), EPIC had solved some of the issues, many installation bugs are still existing.
Solution Steps:
-
Please follow the Epic update to the latest 20.0.4.5478 (or latest) for the exsting old user Epic account (with all the large libraries & plugins).
-
Create a new account, no Fab assets, log in and download your engine of choice until finished & varified. Remember, NOT to delete the newly created account yet as many of the installation problems are still around. And you have to come back to this new account over & over to install Enignes if you can’t install them using old account.
-
Re-Login with the old Epic account, install all the required Fab assets for each engines.
That’s all. And it will then automatically works like before. Good luck & enjoy you game developing guys~ ![]()
A bit late to the party here, but I’m having this same issue. Mine keeps getting to 90+% and then just… stops. First it flickers a bunch like shown in this screenshot; plateaus that flatline a few times and then… nothing.
I’ll look into the “update to the latest 20.0.4.5478” and come back, but if it’s happening to anyone else, you’re not alone!
