Can't download assets through Bridge

Just wanted to say thank you for re-enabling downloading in Quixel Bridge. :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:

Will the download servers for Bridge be disabled again at some point in 2025? Any idea when? A heads up this time would be appreciated, so that we can download the assets we need, before that happens.

@Sinister_21 glad to hear it’s been helpful for you!

You can continue to download any assets that you’ve claimed through Quixel Bridge until it is discontinued. So make sure you’ve claimed the assets by clicking on “Claim Now” in the banner that appears before the end of year. (See details here)

At this time, we don’t have a specific date set for the discontinuation of Quixel Bridge but we will communicate any updates well in advance through official channels.

Thank you quixel and epic for listening to us

So I’m signed into my Epic account, I have the latest Quixel Bridge plugin loaded, the Quixel Bridge window appears and I see my purchased content, but where the Download and Add buttons are supposed to be, I see a “Subscribe” button. When I click the subscribe button, another window opens up and now I see Choose your plan. I already have a plan, but when I choose Unreal Engine, another window opens, and I get “get unlimited access”, I press that and then I’m informed that I can be set up with unlimited access because I have an Epic Games Content License, but something has gone wrong. I’ve tried this whole chain several different times already, but I’d just like to know if help is in sight.

Of course FAB seems to be working as well as it can, I’m able to add assets to my project, but as we all know the program leaves a lot to be desired, and some content seems to be missing or incompatible with 5.4.4.

Also, I can open the Quixel Bridge web app, and I’m able to download my content there too, just not through the in engine plugin.

Hi,

The issue seems to be related to your account. Please contact Quixel support through this web form for assistance.

I can’t imagine how to find the assets I want in such a chaotic folder and then import them into other DCC software. FAB made it all worse.

Please Epic Please I know I’m not the only UE user that is saying this but please bring back the functionality that Bridge had. Please! This whole Fab thing is not working. I get a headache trying to figure out how to get the assets I need nowadays.

i cant even download from Fab… this is really annoying

I haven’t been able to download assets through Bridge for about a week now. I claimed all the items long ago, so they are “purchased”. Just can’t download anything ATM. I can download through the web portal at megascans.com though, so that’s at least something. But I can’t select specific texture maps to download through that.

But you said there weren’t any plans right now for when Bridge would be discontinued? So why can’t I download? Can anyone tell me what’s going on?

The issue might be specific to your account. Can you contact Quixel support through this web form with more details about what you’re seeing when you try to download through Bridge?

I have the same problem since a couple of days. But when I hover over the picture in Bridge I can download the asset through the top right corner DL icon. Maybe this workaround works for you too.

Same here, trying to go to Fab is a big no, it’s appaling compared to Bridge, disfunctional and it just looks like an attempt to get people to buy other things.

So I read that Bridge was back and working again for Quixel assets, but…not for me. The latest plugin version is 5.5.0, which does not allow the integration it used to have.

Did this never make it to Mac? Is it going to? Because right now, the Mac is the same disaster people were complaining about at the beginning of the thread – no idea what to “download” from Fab, when you do it’s a disorganized mess, and workflows that used to take seconds now take a half an hour and have a high failure rate.

Simply stated, Fab is in an early stage of monetizing UE content.

this is very annoying, and if it’s not gonna be fixed, i’ll leave FAB for good.

Agreed! I’ve lost all 18,000 assets simply because Fab did not automatically pull all my assets over. I was never made aware of the fact that I also had to go to the new Fab page and click a link to claim all my assets that were already mine. This is insane. I’m now having to do the painstaking task of downloading all these assets and then what am I supposed to do with them. This whole transition is insane.

Fab works great in Unreal, unforunately it’s junk in 3dsmax now.

Thanks so much for mentioning this! I was going insane over why the download button stopped working. This way I was still able to download assets!

I am beggggggging Epic to let us use Bridge for these assets. Or at the very least introduce Fab as a standalone app capable of the same down/export feature to various platforms… in my case 3DsMax.

@amass3d and @Flars83 can you check in account settings what plan you’re subscribed to? The download button should be working for assets that you’ve already acquired in Quixel Bridge, but it’s possible there may be some issue impacting specific account types such as yours.

@amass3d You should also be able to use the export to 3DsMax feature in Bridge for assets that you’ve already downloaded.

A desktop app for Fab is on the Epic Developer Community | Fab Roadmap. Would love to hear any feedback on what Bridge features or workflows you’d like to be available to you.
