Can't access account- 400 Bad request error

Summary

When I try to access my account page (I need to link github to it), I get:

“400 Bad Request
Request Header Or Cookie Too Large
openresty”

Anyone know how to fix that?

I’m trying to access this URL on the “unrealengine.com” website:
/account/personal?lang=en-US

(I tried to add that as a link btw and it created a weird preview lol)

Am I not able to access the Account section because I have a SELLER account? Surely, I should still be able to access details of my account for github link etc etc?

Am I doing something really obvious and wrong? :slight_smile:

Steps to Reproduce

Go to unrealengine.com. Go up to the username, and click it. Three options - account, seller, sign out. Click Account. Then get the 400 BAD REQUEST response.

Expected Result

I should have access to adjust things like linking my account to GitHub etc. It worked in the past but isn’t now.

Observed Result

I get “400 bad request”

How to link your accounts

  1. Sign in to your Epic Games account: Go to the Epic Games website and click the “Sign in” button in the top-right corner.

  2. Go to Connected Accounts: After signing in, click on your username and select “Personal” or find the “Linked Accounts” page. This can also be found by navigating to your account settings and then to “Connected Accounts”.

  3. Connect GitHub: Scroll down to the GitHub icon and click the “Connect” button.

  4. Sign in to GitHub: A new window will open. Sign in to your GitHub account when prompted.

  5. Authorize the link: Authorize the connection when prompted. You will receive a confirmation email from GitHub with a verification link, which you must click to complete the process.

How to use GitHub to log in

  • Once the accounts are linked, you can choose to sign in to your Epic account directly through your GitHub account instead of using your Epic Games email and password.

  • When you go to the sign-in page, you should see an option to log in with GitHub. Click that option to be redirected to GitHub to log in and complete the sign-in process for your Epic Games account.
