Summary
I cannot install Unreal Engine through the Epic Games Launcher on Windows 11. I am signed in, but Unreal Engine > Library shows no engine versions. Clicking both “Install Engine” and the “+” button does nothing. No installation or version-selection dialog opens.
What Type of Bug are you experiencing?
Other
Steps to Reproduce
- Open the updated Epic Games Launcher on Windows 11 and sign in.
- Open Unreal Engine > Library.
- Click “Install Engine”.
- Click the “+” button next to Engine Versions.
Expected Result
An engine version tile or installation dialog should appear, allowing me to choose and install Unreal Engine.
Observed Result
The engine versions list remains empty. Both buttons have no visible effect, so installation cannot begin. The launcher logs include:
EoshState = WaitingForBuildsAndItemFiles
LoadItemFiles: Loaded 0 item files in 0.0 secs
found 0 entitled apps
Affects Versions
5.8
Platform(s)
Windows
Additional Notes
Already tried: updating the launcher, fully closing and restarting it, running it as administrator, rebuilding its webcache after stopping all launcher processes, and navigating between the game library and Unreal Engine library. The issue persists.
System: Windows 11 Home 64-bit (build 26200), Intel Core i7-10750H, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (6 GB VRAM), approximately 640 GB free on C:.
No Unreal Engine version is installed yet; this occurs before choosing any engine version. The form requires an affected engine version, so 5.8 was selected only to submit this launcher installation issue; this is not a confirmed bug inside UE 5.8.
Could Epic please check whether the account can access the Unreal Engine build catalog and whether the required entitlements are present? An account/catalog issue is suspected but has not been confirmed.
