Cannot connect to Lore after Fortnite and UEFN update

Summary

At least for the last two patches, I have a project where I need to completely clear the local files and redownload from Lore in order to access it. If I attempt to reconnect from the editor, it throws me the following error message:

“Revision Control: Connection Error: Failed to load branch metadata: Write access required but repository was opened read-only | WriteRequired”

There isn’t anything I’ve found that resolves this (restarting editor, restarting PC, etc). I always have to nuke local, then resync. For large projects, the time loss can be quite expensive for the day. I don’t have repro steps other than to say this only happens after Fortnite and UEFN update, and once I download clean it won’t occur again until the next update. 100% repro on the last two patch days.

Also, side note, “Type of Bug” for forums still says “Unreal Revision Control” instead of “Lore” - you may want to fix that

To confirm,

  • Is this always affecting the same project, but not other projects?
  • If so, are you storing this project in the same location on disk as your other projects
  • In your experience have you seen this issue ever between patches or is it only after version upgrade?
