Can you package a standalone WIndows U4 game in such a way so it would run on Steam?

Hi,

I have a super crappy Intel 3000 GPU and my standalone packaged game out of U4 for Windows (shipped) runs really
bad outside the editor.
Is it possible to package a game so that we can launch it on Steam?
Just to help us guys with crappy GPU’s?
That would be a great workaround.

I’m not sure if I understand how running it on steam would improve your in-game performance? Afaik, if you want your game to be published on steam, it has to go through greenlight 1st. Or try to load your game with the ‘‘run a non-steam game’’ in steam…but again…I don’t see how it would perform better. Steam is just a game distribution platform…

Wouldn’t running the game with steam create additional overhead making performance slightly worse?

Upload your game on X.io (Otoy’s streaming service, like amazon appstream, but much easier to setup). You can play remotely, they run it on nvidia grid k520 i Believe. Similar to a GTX 680 they say. Since it’s in beta it’s free for a while. I’ve ran unrealParis on it and koola’s Lightroom demo. 1080p/30fps is the max you’ll get tho. You need a decent internet connection since the whole game will be streamed but you can run high end app on any laptop, desktop, tablet…even a phone

It doesn’t have any effect on performance as far as I know.
