Can we save variables bound to a player's account?

I recently heard of the fortnite editor and thought I’d give it a try. But before I start I’d like to find out if it’s possible to persist information for an account? So that if I want to make an idle-game I could have the player re-join a game at any time and they would load whatever score they had accumulated during their last session. Or does variables only persist for as long as the player is connected to a game session?

You can persist score between sessions with the Save Point device.

Thanks for the info, that’s great!

That is not correct. There is currently no persistence with UEFN islands.

Unfortunately all persistence was removed just prior to the UEFN Beta being released.

When I wrote this, the editor was offline (login services in maintenance) so I couldn’t check, but the UEFN documentation said: “for the list of available devices, look at this page in Fortnite Creative”.

Hopefully they’ll bring this device back. Or something better.

I am currently missing level instance/loader devices.

To learn more about what devices are available, see Using Devices in the Fortnite Creative documentaiton.

Well dang, that’s a bit of a dealbreaker! I was hoping that Fortnite would be the new roblox! Oh well, maybe they will add it later

the device is still there in Fortnite Creative  Just not in UEFN yet.

Yeah it will come back (or something better) eventually, don’t worry. As Kryss said, they were removed just before public beta because they had issues. See UEFN Persistence Announcement
