Can not open a PPI licensed project on another computer

Hi,
as I read in this post, it should be possible to transfer and PPI licensed projects from one computer to the other.

I log in on the first computer under my Epic account and save the project again.
After that I try to open the project under the same login and I always get this message:

Could not load the project. The project was either created on another computer or in PPI mode. To open this project please make sure you are online and all other project contributors are registered users. [err: 5098]

If I load only the images on the second machine into a new project, they are licensed. It can’t be that I have to recalculate all my projects just because I bought a new computer…?

Any idea?

Hi Sven,

yes, this should work for you.

Is you first computer online? Are you trying to log in as anonymous? Are you using just PPI license? Were there some changes on first computer (like name change or Windows reinstallation)?

Hi,

thanks, yes I use PPI license and yes the first Comuter is online and no the first comuter had noch changes (Windows 10, always same name). The new Computer is Windows 11.

What do you mean “trying to log in as anonymous” ?

There is an option to log in as Anonymous in the application:

Are you able to open the mentioned project on the first computer without issues?

Can you try open RealityCapture on the first computer with pushed SHIFT and then choose option Make it like a clean install. After that you will need to log in again with your Epic Games account.

After that you can try open the project on the new computer?

If this won’t work for you can you send me the project file and folder?

ok, thank you very much, I will check this in the evening, because the old Computer is not in the office.

after starting RealityCapture with “clean install” option and resaving the project I was able to start the project on the new computer.
