Can no longer override the input for the Baller Vehicle's Boost ability

Summary

I use an Input Trigger Device with “Consume Input” enabled in order to disable the Boost Ability that comes with the Baller Vehicle.
This was working fine in August. But as of now, when I press space, the Baller Vehicle triggers its Boost ability, which I do not want.

I don’t know when this bug appeared. I suspect in 37.20.

This is having a pretty bag impact on our game. Can this be addressed? Thanks!

Steps to Reproduce

  • Add an Input Trigger Device configured to respond to the Jump input, and check “Consume Input”
  • Add a Baller Vehicle Device
    Launch the game, drive the Baller Vehicle, and notice how the Vehicle still boosts when pressing space (Jump)

Expected Result

Since Consume Input is enabled, the Baller Vehicle should not boost when you press space/Jump

Observed Result

Now the Baller Vehicle is boosting when pressing space even though the Input Trigger Device should be preventing that behavior

Hi there!

After some review, this is something we won’t be fixing at this time. Re expected result: “Since Consume Input is enabled, the Baller Vehicle should not boost when you press space/Jump” - this actually isn’t intended to work this way. It’s being hooked up to “Jump” not “Boost”, and if someone playing this map changes “Jump” to another button, then the setup falls apart. “Boost” would need to be disabled, but that is currently not supported.

Will that ever be supported?

It’s quite annoying to work on a game for month and then have features break because of an update and having no workaround.
