Hello fellow developers, I’m new to Unreal engine and fairly new to game development. I have a question at relates to my game I am making right now. My specs CPU i5-6500 and GPU RTX-2060. I want to create a very breathtaking game but have it optimized for at least 30 fps on Epic S
Metahumans are designed to be inherently scalable, but it also depends on what you want to use them for.
Game development is a game of optimizing on multiple axes. Is your game multiplayer? Then you’re going to be paying frame costs for all of the networking. Focused on high-resolution? Then your frame rate will likely suffer.
My first questions would be, fundamentally: what kind of game are you trying to create, and what’s the visual style and bar that you’re hoping to achieve?
Going for a single player fps. A style that blinds the likes of Halo (The Silent Cartographer map and the original concept), Red Faction Guerrilla, and Far Cry 3. It’s a open world map about the same size as Fortnite. The story would take 3 to 5 hours
I see, how much of it do you have planned out so far?
Sketches, yeah I know sounds silly but have been playing around with the engine. I’ve practiced making landscape, blendspaces, and Enemy AI. I’m also far enough we’re I’m questioning if I should do third person instead.
Blendspaces?
What are your target platforms BTW?

PC/Windows & Linux and Consoles/Xbox and Ps5. I don’t know how I would do the consoles though
How do you mean, how? Technically, or some other limitation?
The core of metahumans was to have scalable characters that can go from high-end mobile to the best rigs money can buy. It could easily support half a dozen, but the question is what kind of quality is acceptable to you.
What I mean for consoles is distribution
