Can I enable per-poly collision for an Alembic-exported animation?

Hi. I have created an animation in 3DS Max. The following screenshots should give you an idea:

I have exported this animation as Alembic, and imported it into UE4.

The animation runs in my game, but I can not get collision to work. If I enable per-poly collision on the skeletal mesh, then my character collides with the single bone in the skeletal mesh. But I want my character to collide with the actual mesh.

Is this possible?
