Can I connect Texture Sample node to Opacity Mask in Volumetric Distance Decal(Experimental) Material ?

I can connect Texture Sample to BaseColor and EmissiveColor.
But when it’s connected to OpacityMask, editor shows an error “[SM5] /Engine/Private/DeferredDecal.usf(96,60-72): error X4014: cannot have gradient operation inside loops with divergent flow control” and nothing is rendered.
