Button that reacts the same to gamepad and mouse+keyboard

Hi there!
I’m trying to create a hybrid UI in UMG for players using gamepads or mouse+keyboard. I’ve come across one problem that makes me unable to progress. My buttons do not visually act the same when I hover them with mouse or focus them with a gamepad and I can’t seem to figure out how to achieve that effect.

Also, I can’t see any native support for handling focus in buttons themselves. I’d love to add it or have something that could handle them. Maybe I’m missing some plugin or feature that would allow it?

Some people suggest wrapping a button in a user widget but it comes with a variety of problems I am not able to accept, such as having to re-write all of my user interfaces for the game. Unfortunately, this is a no-go for me.

Is anybody able to help?

Really Easy, just do this.



unsure if it will help however if you tie them together they should work together.

Only briefly. Does it have that hover/focus functionality? If so, I’ll look into it further!

Edit: Also, will I have to remake my entire game in terms of UI if I decide to use it? Or is it something you can use selectively or that integrates into existing stuff automatically?

Yeah I’m already way past that part. Receiving input works correctly. What I’m asking for help here is related to hover / focus visuals. I wanted them to be the same for mouse+keyboard as well as gamepad focus. And normal buttons do not have focus visuals at all in UMG. And that’s what I’m trying to achieve. Still, thank you ^-^
