Summary
Burst Fire shotguns, such as the Two-Shot Shotgun and the Primal Shotgun, incorrectly use random pellet spread/bullet direction, despite no other shotguns in the game doing this for obvious reasons. This is likely a major factor as to why these guns were so hated for being “unreliable” and “inconsistent”.
There appears to be a check for if a gun is a burst in the same logic that handles Consistent Shotgun spread. This check has existed since consistent shotgun spread was added (v5.00), despite no Burst Shotgun existing until 3 years after that, as such I believe this is an oversight.
Nothing with burst-fire logic and consistent spread conflict with each other, I want to make it clear that this, from what I can see, simply looks like a programming oversight.

Steps to Reproduce
- Equip any generic spread Shotgun, such as a Tactical Shotgun
- Shoot a target, observe how the pellet indicators are perfectly consistent with every shot
- Do the same with the Two-Shot or Primal Shotguns
Expected Result
The Spread should be 100% consistent every shot, as it is with every other standard Shotgun in the game.
Observed Result
The shotgun pellets are completely random and erratic, often clustering on a point or just being all over the place.
