BuildingProp and BuildingPropActor not giving resources and indestructable by player

Summary

I am using destructible props provided by fornite, and using a prop manipulator device to override the given resource to Gold.

On the props, I have “Force Damage Ping” and “Can be Damaged” set to “True”.

When I boot into the game, I cannot damage the props with a pickax at all. When using a vehicle to damage them, they will sometimes destroy, however no resource is given.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Place building “BGBuilding City Deco 01” into the scene.
  2. Turn on “Force Damage Ping”
  3. Turn on “Can be Damaged”
  4. Place Prop Manipulator over building
  5. Encompass the building in the prop manipulators volume.
  6. Override resources given to gold
  7. Boot into game
  8. Unable to damage building
  9. When ramming with vehicle, can destroy building, unable to get resources.

Expected Result

Expect to damage with pickax, and get resources, and get resources from vehicle.

Observed Result

Was unable to damage with pickaxe, and could not get resources from vehicle.

Do you have Pickaxe Destruction set to Default or Instant in Island Settings ?

Well that could be the problem… Apparently it was set to “None” I wasn’t even aware of this setting. Setting it to “Default” seems to work with the pickaxe, it applies damage and awards gold.

However, I’m still not getting any resources when the vehicles destruct the props? Is that just not a feature? I see that “Vehicle Impacts Damage Objects” is an option that I have set to “True”

Yeah that setting is commonly overlooked.

I don’t know of any settings related to the vehicle giving resources, i assumed they would, but can’t see any.
Yeah, probably not a feature…yet, UEFN team may have missed this, but it should be.

Awesome, well thank you very much for your help! You at least made me realize there is no “bug” but just a missing feature perhaps, so I can try and work around this. Thanks for your help!
