Building UE5.6 Bundled Image

The current hosted “latest” image on Unreals Git repo is 5.6 but that image doesn’t ship with any of the agent MSIs or binaries etc. The latest bundled image is 5.5. I am trying to understand what the steps would be to get our hands on a bundled image for 5.6. I’ve dug into some docs that pointed me in the direction of executing the buildgraph target but is the assumption that there’s a dedicated build system for this, with the ability to separate tasks between a windows and linux box, or are we missing something? From the looks of it the buildgraph target only allows linux iirc.

Yes, unfortunately the “bundled” image for 5.6 is not provided. We have reported it [Content removed]

The workaround is to build it from source (you need to have Docker running):

RunUAT.bat BuildGraph -Script=Engine/Source/Programs/Horde/BuildHorde.xml -Target="Build Bundled Docker Image"

Hey there,

For 5.6 the workaround is the way to go. As we prepare 5.7 this is something we will be keeping front of mind.

Should you hit any issues in executing the workaround, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Kind regards,

Julian

Thank you for the help! We’ve since been able to get the image version with the bundled packages as needed.
