I know that it’s a bit of a long shot, but following on from my [previous [Content removed] I was wondering if anyone has any information regarding the performance difference between Horde + UBA and FASTBuild.
Our build pipeline currently uses FASTBuild, but we are open to using Horde + UBA if the performance is better, especially considering that it’s the “official” Epic solution.
Depending on the number of cores\nodes that you have in your build\compilation farm and the amount of plugins you have in your project, compiling the editor from scratch can get down to 4-5 minutes when using UBA. It’s around 6 minutes when compiling the UE5 development editor target on my setup.
We are not running internal benchmarks but the data shared by our licensees is that UBA is generally faster than other distribution tools.
