[Bug] No Audio when trying to export to .mp4

Hey,

Just starting out making some cinematics and trying to render out to .mp4. Followed the setup using the Command Line CLI, FFmpeg, Movie Render Que. All works fine. But the output .mp4 (or .avi) files have no audio.

I’ve even tried to add a separate ‘Audio’ output file, nothing.

I have multiple audio tracks (SCs and SWs) in my sequence which all work and play fine in editor and in PIE.

Is this a bug or is there some missing configuration step for 5.2.0?

Thanks,

I am experiencing this but assume I just need to point unreal to the AAC codec. I will update with my findings (if i can remember )

In the MRQ settings, you might want to add Audio as a setting. That will separately Render out sounds for you. Either way, I prefer adding sound later in Post.

Hey, has someone solved the issue? Same problem here

I never received a reply anywhere or could debug it. I ended up having to record the audio during in-engine playback using OBS, and import that track into my final video editing programe…

Really poor user experience, I did not see any warnings / errors that could even point to what was causing this behavior.

Hi!

Try to configure the MP4 settings as discussed earlier:

In the Movie Render Queue, you need to add JPEG, WAV audio, and the Command Line Encoder. In the Command Line Encoder, do not activate or deactivate Delete Source Files .

This process worked for me. After the render, I manually delete the source files, but the MP4 was generated correctly with audio.
