In the past with other versions (4.0-4.4) the only time I ever had trouble is when working with a large number of BSP meshes the mouse would jump to the brush after it finished updating. Now in 4.5.x even if BSP updates are instant, the mouse jumps the the upper left hand corner of monitor 1 which is the left most monitor of my 3 monitor setup. I have Unreal running in monitors 2 & 3 only at the moment.
I’ve noticed it isn’t just BSP that does this though. I was working on a material and every time I changed any setting’s numbers at all the mouse would jump to the same corner. The odd thing is that the BSP jumps are random, but when I work in the material editor its every single time. This is unique to 4.5 as I never had anything like this happen with materials in 4.4.x and below.
If it helps my resolutions are 1920x1080, 2560x1440, and 1920x1080. I do not have any kind of increased DPI settings or anything like that.
I’ve noticed it has nothing to do with BSP updates. Its 100% based on entering a value that causes a change to something. Like BSP sizes or numbers in a material constant.
I think I’m starting to figure it out. It isn’t doesn’t appear to be the numbers or the enter key. Clicking in the field itself when its not currently selected seems to do it every time. It doesn’t matter if its BSP or materials. That explains why it was random. Sometimes I realized the size was wrong and I re-entered it without having to reselect the field.
Yup drove me nuts all weekend trying to make something for the Gamejam, I have screensaver bottom left corner and about 50% of the time the pointer jumped to the top left and the other 50% bottom left so I would double click and then as I tried to type my screensaver would kick in. Also had many loss of focus issues and weird viewport jumps when orbiting around meshes using ALT+RMB orbit
I’ve found a second work around for this. This isn’t as good as the first one though. You need to select two objects that have the same fields. For some reason this bug doesn’t exist with multiple selections. Unfortunately it doesn’t help in materials. It does help in BSP and possibly blueprints.
The drag the field before trying to edit it always works but then you can’t add or subtract values from the current value and I do this all the time.
