Specs: Win7, 16GB, GTX580, UAC on
Description:
Hi there, so in my testing efforts for programming in Rocket, I seem to have run into a snag with its in-editor compile features. In an attempt to compile my code to the editor after compiling first in VS2012, I hit the “Recompile Level Editor” option by mistake instead of “Recompile Game Code”. I got a dialog from that saying the “compile failed: no modules to load?” And now since that has happened, the viewport will not stop artifacting every time I move around using the mouse in the editor.
The screen capture video attached doesn’t capture the problem very well since frames seem to get dropped or lost during compression. But I assure you the artifacting is a lot worse than this video portrays. Just a lot of annoying skips and blotches as far as the eye can see.
A restart of both the editor and the computer does not fix this.
NOTE: This does not happen outside of the scene viewport (i.e. Menu Widgets, file menu, sub-tools, etc.). It is specifically a rendering issue in the viewport only.
Repro Steps:
I can’t say this will be easy to replicate. Sometimes it is one of those crapshoot bugs that you’re unfortunate enough to encounter. But what initially caused this was first recompiling the level editor, and then recompiling the game code. You may want to try mixing and matching the compile orders in which you compile stuff to see it produces the display bug.
Results:
If reproducing the bug is successful, you will start to see black or pixelated blotches in the viewport window editor.
Expected: I expect not to see these blotches everywhere I look in the viewport editor, even if I screw up the compile order.
