[Bug] 4.12.5 Packaged build doesn't automatically detect VR headset

Hi,

Since upgrading to 4.12.5 , any packaged build starts in monitor fullscreen mode even though my Oculus Rift is connected.

If I manually enter the “stereo on” console command, it does switch to stereo rendering and it works fine.

This is not a problem when running the build from the Editor with “Play in VR”.

Engine version: 4.12.15

HMD: Oculus Rift DK2 ( latest runtine )

Video Card: Geforce GTX 760 ( latest drivers )

OS: Windows 10 x64

in a blueprint use the console command and enter the arguement “stereo on”.

Hello George_Cristian_Tudor,

This is working as intended. In 4.12, the only way to enter VR mode outside the editor is by launching with -vr, “stereo on” in console, or by code. I hope that this information helps.

Make it a great day

Oh, ok. I didn’t know that this was intended behavior. Thanks for the clarification.

im sooo confused, i read and read for minutes, and im still without fixing this problem, please please please, can anyone help me with this issue? i have Oculus Rift DK2 and UE 4.12 why my “Vr preview” is grayed out, why i can’t test my level like in other preview versión? why? why? why?. I need, a plugin for this? i need an external App for this? when i run the project in editor mode any single command seem to be work ("-vr" “stereo on” “hmd enable”) nothing work, im so angry for this, please need help!
