BSP->SM Black Lighting?

Hey,

I’ve created a blockout of my scene and then I converted the brushes to actors so I could get a rough idea of DFAO. The problem is as soon as I build the lighting the meshes turn black. I followed the advice at the end of the video, which just sounds like a workaround for a bug to me, and my lighting comes back. However, as soon as I build the lighting all the meshes turn black again.

Is this normal and if not what’s the fix?
