I just updated to 4.7 recently and made a new project 2 days ago.
I have not messed with any materials since making the new project, only the character blueprint.
I’ve tried to create new levels but I still get the same bug after about 5 minutes.
Materials keep undo-ing my material x and y scale over time on their own and reverting to how the material looked after I scaled a BSP. After a while it completely screws up.
Things I’ve tried:
Creating new levels
Re-importing all materials and textures
Building the level
Removing the saved folder from the project folder
Thank you for your post. I tried this out internally and was able to reproduce this issue. Good Catch! I have entered a Jira ticket for this issue and have passed it along to the developers. The number for this ticket is: UE-11368. I will keep track of this issue and when changes have been made I will make sure to let you know.
I get a similar bug, except with my issue the scale and alignment of the materials on my BSPs change anytime I add a new BSP or rebuild the scene. Annoying!
I have the same problem here.
I started UE4 the day it got free, and my BSP materials have since always been really instable, destoying the scale of the material on every BSP in the map as soon as I create, move, or even select a thing in the editor.
Sometimes, it also get BSP faces really dark, but rebuilding the light seems to correct (from time to time) the problem.
Hey guys, I just wanted to give an update on this issue. Since several other users are experiencing the same problems I have escalated the community interest in this bug. This will give express to the developers that the community is particularly interested in seeing this bug taken care of.
Just a quick heads up about my experience of the bug : I currently can use BSP correctly if I don’t change the scale of the material being applied on it, so I think I’m in the exact same situation as Daverm. A previous testing level was really messing BSP colors and scale, but since I changed my level, it only discards the scale changes as soon as I do something else in the level.
We have tested this internally and are not seeing the issue on Launcher 4.7.4. Can you look at your reproduction steps and write them out here? I want to test to make sure we are attempting to reproduce in the same way. Try to be as precise as possible.
I’ve restarted my editor and I’m now unable to recreate the issue. I’ll keep you guys updated if i find a way to consistently reproduce the issue. Thanks for keeping on top of this!
