Hello everyone,
Is anyone experiencing this problem like me? :
By exporting a 3D model to fbx (here from 4D cinema), the textures of this same fbx model are displayed in the wrong direction for certain surfaces, once imported into unreal engine.
Specifically, the texture displays as if the surface is in shade, unlike all other surfaces facing the same direction.
(See photo below).
Do you know what I can do to fix this problem?
Because I systematically encounter this problem with each export/import of 3D objects to Unreal Engine.
Thank you for your help.
It looks like the normals are facing the wrong way.
Thank you for your feedback @ClockworkOcean ,
It would seem not, because each time I export to FBX, I make sure that the normals are in the same direction.
Picture 1:
As you can see in the following screenshot: all the normals are in the same direction for the roof.
Picture 2-3:
I checked by inverting a selection (the āINVERTā) on the following 2 images, and you can clearly see the difference in brightness.
Which means that initially, all normals are in the right direction for export & import in UE5 of FBX. So do you have any idea where the problem could be coming from?
(Ex: export parameters in FBX that I forgot to check from cinema 4D,
Or FBX import settings in UE5 that I forgot?)
I thank you for the help.

Very detailed
Any change you could upload the FBX of the chair ( for instance ) here?
Sorry @ClockworkOcean (Iām French) and Iām not sure I understand correctly:
Are you asking me if I have any other settings that I can enable or disable for exporting to fbx? is that right?

Sorry ( Mistyped: I mean to say āany chanceā, but I said āany changeā )
Iām saying, can you upload the chair model FBX here, then I can take a look?
AH ok ! yes of course but we are limited to 29.3 Mb for upload, and my file is 42.8 MB. (I canāt go below this weight) Do you know a website (or other solutionā¦) for sharing a huge file without email address ?
Thank you
