Bright outside but pitch black house

What i am wanting to create is a level with a bunch of houses but in one of the houses, which all windows are boarded up, i want that house to be pitch black. I want it to be fully dark with no light except for the light my character is carying. How would i do this. Please note i am fairly new to unreal engine 4 so please explain things easily to me.

In your level just add a directional light. Now the parts outside of the house should be lit. To get a better result, place post process volumes with an ambient cubemap so that the shadows outside of the house wont be so dark.

Now when you are in the house, it’s dark (as long as you have blocked the light from the windows) and when you get outside (touch the post process volume) it will be bright :slight_smile:
