I have shadow problems in the free Rural Australia project. I used the config they suggested and would like to know how to fix that issue i’m encountering.
I have also seen this problem on another project of mine but I don’t know how to tackle this. I’m new to UE?

Hey @Dante_Abra! I’m going to move this to the correct category, from International to Rendering! Please make sure you use the right category when creating a post, so we know how best to help you!
As far as your issue… I’m not exactly sure how to help. To me, this looks fantastic! As far as general shadow settings you can try turning up the LoD’s to the best available, and in your viewport (Assuming you’re not using an exported thing, but using the editor window), at the top there are a few bubbles, one of them should allow you to set your graphics settings differently. Turn all of them up to ultra then re-run it and see how it does!
Thank you @Mind-Brain for your quick response. Sorry about the Category, I misunderstood what was asked to me, i thought it was related to the language I want to post into so I chose International xd
I recorded a video so you’ll see the shadows are problematic and not fine as you thought they are.

I have tried your suggestions and it doesn’t work
Since yester I have tested every parameters of the Directional Light/Planar Reflection/the Static Mesh itself and it doesn’t resolve the issue.
I removed the wind effect from the Static Mesh materials so at least it doesn’t blink anymore but the shadow still is pretty ugly
Edit: I don’t know how but I solved it for everywhere except water shadow. I identified now that my Water material is the problematic asset. I’ll dig further
2nd Edit: The Water material was already buggy in the main package. So there is nothing wrong with my project at least. However it could be cool to increase the quality oh those water shadows.
Ah, yeah, I see what you mean @Dante_Abra. The videos made it much clearer, but I’m glad you got that part sorted!
Water… is… I’m not going to say more difficult, I’m going to say “less understood and researched” so it’s always a bit behind open-air graphics, especially with the two mixed (Underwater tends to be focused by a larger group). It’s just hard to truly imitate liquid refraction and retain shadow activity and quality. I wish you luck! Try the asset store, and pay attention to the artist’s refund policy to make sure you have a bit of a safety net! Our catch-all refund policy doesn’t cover simply “not good,” it will have to have an issue so make sure you know what you’re dealing with before you purchase!
