Not here… and no more notifications or communication after re filling the form from last email…

Just to have something I modeled and 3d printed my own little “swag”…it’s something :man_shrugging:

Hopefully I am not infringing any copyright.

Sadly I did not get the email either and the survey is closed.

Have to say that i’m really annoyed by now and wonder if they even understand what an “EPIC fail” this is.

I told many friends about the challenge and that I won. I’m not even sure where the bigger “damage” is:
a) Me telling them that epic fails to send out the stuff
b) some of them claiming that i didnt win anything (to then have to show them the mails and THEN they see how epic fails)
c) Me beeing angry about this and the negative association that it creates with the whole brand

I pledged to a lot of Kickstarter (board) games before the pandemic. They should all be delivered by now (most of them in the middle of the pandemic) but none of them arrived yet. One of them promised they will start shipping the end of this month… And these games I paid good money to get them early.
Why Im writing this here? Either Epic is on this shipping delay scam with all of Kickstarter or there is really a big problem with companies which has no contract with carriers.
Not defending them, they are in the wrong because they told us january (which they shouldnt if they are not 101% sure they can keep), but they are communicating it with us which is nice. Eventually everybody who is eligible will get his/her package.

a) They failed to maintain a deadline they set themself. Its free stuff you getting, is it really bad you have to wait for it… its not like Epic wont send it to you, you have to wait a little bit more.
b) First why you have to brag? Second why do you have to prove them anything? Either your friends are very young or never grown up.
c) Why do you worry about the Epic Games brand? You shouldnt. Just go to any random, not engine specific game dev forum and ask them about this challenge. Lot of them never heard of it… You see a lot of negative things here because this thread is about the challenge.

Sky did confirm to me that I was eligible for the swag package on dec21 … soo still waiting, no package in Portugal yet .

Hi there Yakahama!

Don´t take it so serious. People just gets anxious , time has passed , so they/we are wondering what happens , nothing more.

I didn´t read all the comments so probably missed one that sounded kind of aggressive or demanding…
But I believe most of us here understand the situation.

( Also I think the word brag was again taken too serious or used incorrectly ( by me ) I believe it should be interpreted as “Displaying my appreciation for Unreal Engine , as I worked with it and I really enjoy it” Like when you wear a Star Wars Tee-shirt just because it´s something you are really fond of )

As I said before , in any case personally I learned quite a few things from the challenge so I am happy and thankful for that.
Cheers!

Yakama…

a) It’s about the way they communicate. WHAT IS THE STATUS?
It doesnt matter if it’s free or not… if you promise something and dont keep your promise then the other side has the right to get upset at some point

b) Brag? I just talk with my friends and family about what I’m doing. When I told them that i did the stuff for the challenge “the last 2 days” and when they then ask “and? Did you finish it” and then say say “yes,i finished it and now they will send me stuff” then it’s embarrassing after almost 6 month.

c) When someone asks me now about UE then i run into the problem that i can tell them “yes, i still do it” and then have to say that they still didnt send it out (then come what i wrote about) OR i have to say “nah, i’m frustrated because anytime i start UE i have to think about the fact that i still didnt get the swag stuff and still dont know when i will get it”.

I just wonder if they gave the task to someone that made an internship? How can a company this big fail to send out the stuff? Some people moved by now… if i would fail like this at work i would get fired right away.

I wasn’t going to put anything here anymore. but like so many of you, I can’t help but be annoyed.
I was waiting to receive the swag pack, because I planned on starting a big unreal multiplayer project. That I intended to use the swag to show off the UE5 engine that I was using for the project. I tried to wait for the swag before I started the project. but now I will just have go on without the extra little promotion.
it’s not the end off the world, but I am a bit disappointed.

Update, I will definitely incorporate my online learning badges with my project prototype promotion. thank you.

Hello everyone.
So I registered for the challenge, provided all the info as per requirements, and successfully finished it with an email saying that I am gojbg to reciece a swag. Since then I relaxed and carried on with my life, knowing that if I am going to reciece the swag to soon as promised.
However, apparently, it turns out that you always have to be alert for the whole duration of post-challenge period.

So people talk here that there was another new timered email asking to fill in the address information again. I didnt see it!
And it would be to strange to expect everyone who participated to see it after the challenge has ended more than 4 months ago. So… will I not receive the swag now? Despite that I followed all the winning requirement, completed the challenge, got an email saying I am going to receive the swag, provided all information on the start of the challenge? Where is my fault here? Where did I not follow the winning conditions?
Why am I expected to keep monitoring everything for 4 MONTHS
even after the challenge has ended?
Or am wrong and the email was inteded only for those who use double emails and I am panicking for no reason?
Sorry if so, I am just afraid of not receiving it after all of the wait. I want the swag a lot, and I lived for the last 6 months with a hope for getting it.

“Swag” arrived in the mail today:

(x3) patches arrived in an envelope (quarter photographed for scale, not included). Sharing to prevent anyone overlooking the small non-descript bubble envelope these arrive in.

Good Luck.

Well it`s something…
Could it be that those badges are sort of a consolation prize ? Like , when you complete the challenge but you didn´t “won” ?

By all means I am not saying that you didn´t won the challenge , I am just trying to understand.

For what it’s worth I received this by Email , 9 of November 2021…but with all the confusion I am not sure what to expect…

congrazt on swag  !!! can you say where live? still waiting here

I also only received 3 patches. Is that all? But why asking for my size then?
I expected a T-Shirt, a magnet, some stickers, a golden watch, an equestrian statue of me completing the challenge…

The badges are quite nice. I live in the U.S. so I assume we are getting them before everyone else will.

I found the envelope on my doorstep by coincidence. Yesterday I had 2 packages delivered. I was waiting for a 3rd package today but found the envelope instead by the front door.
