Blown out material viewport

Can someone please me out here. My material viewport previews are blown out! Disable auto exposure does not help. If I set it to unlit it’s there but that’s not showing the materials in a correct way.

Hi PLGelton,

Can you try changing the “ClearSky” to “Neutral” and see if that helps?

Hi,

Does not do any better :frowning:

Right - I see what’s happened - in the static mesh editor, click on the “Preview Scene Settings” and reduce the directional light amount…

Where to find that option

?

Ehm… getting really wierd.
By the way, this is on my AMD card and Nvid card.

ok, now I’m not so sure… That kind of looks like corruption… but, this is worth checking anyway…

… dont got that preview window there.
Also it’s doing it with the little thumbnails… after previewing them

Ok, starting to think it could be the issue again (thumbnails use the preview settings too) You can get that option by:

not working. Oh man why o why

black is also a option

Have you tried restarting the Editor? I had an issue with 5.1 once where everything on screen just kept getting brighter and brighter until it crashed - restarting fixed that - it’s worth a try…

No luck there :(.

Also found this. Same issue I think.

Does turning “Cast Shadows” off fix it for you?

I’ve seen quite a few posts about emmisive problems too, it does sound like it’s the bug…

nope :(.

oh well - hopefully it will be fixed soon. Maybe for now, try turning off Nanite - and/or raytracing…

going to try that as well

thanks for your time

In Project settings Hardware Raytracing, Uncheck Raytrace Skylight. That’s causing the issue.
